Legal notice and terms of use

This page is a notice, not a contract. Nothing on it requires your agreement, and nothing on it takes away the rights the licences in section 3 give you.

1. What this is, and who publishes it

This site publishes the Constitution of the Trust and the Bridge, the record of how they were drafted and reviewed, and the Register on which parties declare adoption of the Bridge. It is published by one individual in the Commonwealth of Virginia, identified in the record as the human collaborator, with no organisation behind it and no commercial purpose: no advertising, no sales, no accounts, no donations.

2. How the texts were made

The instruments on this site were drafted with the assistance of an AI system, Anthropic's Claude, at the publisher's direction, and were reviewed and revised by the publisher, who holds editorial responsibility for them. The review responses recorded in the drafting records were generated by OpenAI's GPT‑5.6 Sol, Google's Gemini and xAI's Grok in response to the publisher's prompts and are attributed to each model and its maker. AI output can be wrong; the record cites its sources, and readers should verify against them. Nothing on this site is presented as written by a person when it was not.

3. Licences

• Texts (the instruments, the record, the Register and the site's prose) are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution‑ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY‑SA 4.0), to the extent they are protectable by copyright. Some passages were generated by AI systems and may not be protectable; the licence applies to whatever is. Reusers must keep the attribution, the licence link and this notice, and must indicate any modification.
• Code (the site, scripts and configuration) is licensed under the Apache License 2.0.
• Typefaces are Inter and Source Serif 4 under the SIL Open Font License; their licences are in /fonts/.

4. What it is not

The texts are not law, not a treaty, not a government, not enacted, and not in force. Nothing here is an offer to, an agreement with, or a proposal binding on any government, company or person. Nothing here is legal advice, and nothing creates an attorney–client relationship. See what this is not.

5. No endorsement, no affiliation

This site is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting for Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Cloudflare, GitHub or any other organisation named on it. A model's recorded output is what that model produced when asked; it is not the position of the company that made it, and none of those companies reviewed or approved the instruments.

6. No representation of adoption

No party may represent that it has adopted the Bridge, or that it is endorsed by or affiliated with the Trust, unless a declaration to that effect is published on the Register. An entry on the Register is the only evidence of adoption; absence of an entry means no adoption (Bridge Article 13.2; repository NOTICE).

7. Names and trademarks

• Claude is a trademark of Anthropic, PBC. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Anthropic.
• ChatGPT and GPT are trademarks of OpenAI (OpenAI Group PBC). This site is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by OpenAI.
• Google, Gemini and Google DeepMind are trademarks of Google LLC. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Google.
• Grok is a trademark of X.AI LLC (xAI). This site is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by xAI. Review responses attributed to Grok were created with Grok, as xAI's brand guidelines ask.
• Cloudflare, GitHub, the Internet Archive and Software Heritage are the marks of their owners.

All product and company names are trademarks of their respective owners. Their use here is nominative: for identification, commentary and research only. No logo, wordmark styling or trade dress of any company is used.

8. The models' statements, and statements about companies

The drafting records contain each reviewing model's assessment of the Bridge and of its own maker, and of the drafter's maker, generated in response to the publisher's prompts and recorded by the drafter. They are opinions and interpretations, not statements of verified fact, and they reflect the models' reading of the public sources the records cite. Characterisations of what a company "would refuse" or "could not truthfully sign" are evaluative, not assertions that the company has taken or will take any action. Descriptions of past events are summarised from the cited public reports, which the publisher has not independently verified. Every such page carries this notice. An organisation discussed in the record that believes a statement is inaccurate may use the correction procedure in section 12.

9. The Register and third-party content

The Register publishes signed declarations submitted by third parties. They are third-party content; the publisher does not endorse them and is not their speaker. A submitter represents that it is authorised to act for the party named; that the declaration is accurate and not misleading; that it does not state that any person or organisation has adopted or endorsed any instrument unless that is true; that the submission infringes no rights and breaks no law; and that it licenses the submission under CC BY‑SA 4.0. Entries are recorded exactly as submitted or declined; they are never edited. A declined or removed entry is noted in the changelog.

To report content, or a claimed copyright infringement, open an issue in the repository. The designated copyright agent's name, postal address and email will appear here once registered with the United States Copyright Office. A submitter found to have infringed repeatedly loses the ability to submit.

10. No warranty; limitation of liability

The site and everything on it are provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non‑infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Content may be inaccurate or incomplete and includes AI‑generated material. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for any damages arising from use of the site or reliance on its contents. The licences in section 3 carry their own disclaimers.

11. Governing law

This notice is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict‑of‑laws rules, and any dispute concerning it shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.

12. Corrections

If you identify a factual error on a site page, open an issue in the repository giving the URL, the statement and the correction. The publisher reviews within seven days and, where warranted, corrects or annotates the page and records the correction and its date in the changelog. Canonical texts are never edited: an error in an instrument or a drafting record is answered by a note on the site and, where the amendment procedure applies, a new revision.

13. Accessibility

The site is built to WCAG 2.2 AA and works without JavaScript, without CSS and in print; see the accessibility statement.

14. Changes and contact

Changes to this notice are recorded in the changelog and in the repository's signed history. Contact is through the repository; a role email address is pending.
